Description:

KEY ACTIVITY

  • In production, the Workshop Inspector/Technician will perform the preliminary inspection, repair, modification, and testing of aircraft components and assemblies.
  • In the role of an Inspector, he/she will be required to review and validate the accomplished job before finally certifying a release to service of the component, based on the delegated authority from the Quality Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work experience of at least 18 months in a CAAS AMO as an approved workshop certifying staff with C1 and C7 ratings.
  • Possessed Polytechnic and/or ITE qualifications in Mechatronics/ Mechanical/ Electrical or Aerospace or its equivalent. A degree in Engineering will be advantageous.
  • Passed Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) papers: Air Law (M10/L11/L12); Mechanical (B11, C11, A16) and/or Avionics (F11, F13)
  • Ability to read and interpret the Component Maintenace Manual (CMM) requirements and write in English.

Responsibilities:

  • In the production role, the Technician carries out the work specified by the customer and detailed on the work order raised by the planning department. This will include the following tasks:
    a. Verify proper identification of the aircraft component being worked using current CMM.
    b. Clean and visually inspect components and sub-assemblies for damage and defects prior to dismantling or further inspection.
    c. Perform repair work: preliminary inspection, disassembling the component and sub-assemblies documenting on the teardown report raised by the planning department.
    d. Raise a Bill of Materials Parts Listing, logging all parts needed for replacement, and all consumable materials used.
    e. Complete and document all work performed and data obtained on the work order.
    f. Assemble the component and sub-assemblies including torque and safety wire lock as required.

g. Final assembly and tests as required of the component using the current CMM. Test results, if any, are to be documented in the work order.

  • In the inspection function, the Inspector will check and validate all the work performed on the aircraft component:

a. Verify the job is using the correct and current CMM.
b. Verify the data that are captured in the documentation are legible and accurate.
c. Verify the documentation related to spare parts and consumables is correct and orderly. d. Ensure all maintenance is correctly certified and that records of maintenance carried out are complete.
e. Ensure all maintenance documentation raised for each job is copied if the original is to be sent to the customer, and if not, the original documents are retained safely and
securely for the required period.
f. Sign and issue an authorized component release to service certificate or report any discrepancy for job rectification.
