Galway Plant and Tool Hire (GPT) is a one of Ireland’s largest and most successful plant and commercial vehicle hire specialists. We have 8 branches nationwide, serving the needs of both public and private sector customers.
GPT is part of The Briggs Equipment Group, a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across the UK and Ireland. We currently have a Service Supervisor position based in our Waterford depot.

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE:

  • Managing the service function within the branch, this will include the maintenance, upkeep and servicing of all fleet assigned items.
  • Planning and coordinating work and assignments for the team of fitters, mechanics, and apprentices.
  • Handling any customer issues or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships.
  • Assisting with or performing administrative tasks, such as managing and updating invoices, processing new orders, and tracking inventory.
  • Supervising the preparation and readiness of branch-based fleet items prior to dispatch and upon return, supervising the assessment, inspection, and repair of items.
  • Applying your knowledge and mechanical experience to assist in problem solving.
  • Dispatching fitters and mechanics to breakdowns as required and monitoring the progress.
  • Managing vehicle maintenance plans and service/repair intervals.
  • Ordering and maintaining stocks of spare parts.
  • Ensuring the health and safety, and wellbeing of staff, working with local management to manage and monitor safety.
