We are looking for a talented Mechanical Technician with either a light vehicle or heavy commercial qualification to join our high performing workshop team.
Cummins specialises in Heavy Vehicle service, repairs and maintenance across mining, on-highway trucks, industrial and power generation applications at our Hume facility located 15KM from Canberra CBD.

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

  • Deliver a first-class service to our customers
  • Complete service, repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products in our workshop
  • Support engine rebuilds
  • Diagnose and repair various engines predominately across on-highway, industrial and power generation
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues / incidents to the Workshop Manager
  • Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens
  • Be part of a community of like-minded individuals, who value your input & are open to all viewpoints & communication

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:

  • Mechanical trades qualified as a Heavy or Light Vehicle Mechanic (to Australian standards)
  • Previous repairs and maintenance experience with Diesel Engines, Power Generation, On Highway Truck, Construction or Agriculture desirable but not essential.
  • Diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities
  • Be a team player & be prepared to adhere to Cummins Policies
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues / incidents to shift supervisors
