Workshop Technician - Machine / Welding

Overview
Assist the Fabrication & Welding Supervisor to perform basic machine and welding shop functions, using milling machine, lathe, welding machine and related shop tools to fabricate and complete work order requests involving fabrication of special tools, stands, fixtures and repair of GSE and Motor Pool equipment.
Will also be responsible to:
1. Operate manual milling machine, lathe and welding machines.
2. Maintain accountability for all tools and equipment assigned to shop.
3. Read prints and be able to compile lists of needed material, size and quantities.
4. Maintain records for tools and shop stock items.
5. Repair damaged equipment and fabricates any parts needed to complete task.
6. Maintain machines with regular maintenance for continued operation.

Qualification

• High School Completion of a formal welding and/or machining training course from an accredited military or civilian school. Standard Aviation Welding preferable.

• Able to read blueprints and apply to practical application.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years working in a machine and weld shop, using milling machines, lathes, welding machines and related shop tools.

• Must have experience in machining and welding fabrication, and related shop operations.
