The Group Strategy team advises Telenor’s top management on how to navigate through this uncertainty across our markets in Asia and Nordics. The team maintains an industry outlook, leverages those perspectives to develop the long-term strategy of for Telenor, and advises top management on the priorities required to reach the full value potential of the Group’s portfolio of business areas and assets.
As a strategy director in Telenor you will be part of a team responsible for strategy with highly experienced and competent people. You will also be a part of a wider strategy community in Telenor, taking the point of view of an active owner. The role reports to the SVP Head of Group Strategy.
Our main responsibility is to support the P&CEO in setting Telenor’s long term strategic direction and medium-term priorities, and in securing this direction is reflected in regional and Business Unit priorities.

As a strategy director your responsibilities include:

• Being a significant contributor in developing the corporate strategy, based on an industry outlook and Telenor’s performance and strengths
• Support other units in their strategy development and ensure the direction from the corporate strategy is reflected in plans
• Lead and execute analysis, collaborate with various parts of the organization to synthesize conclusions into recommendations, and be an advisor to top management
• Contribute to the development of our portfolio strategy and support on specific M&A projects
• Continuously learn about the industry, understand trends and what their impact will be on our business

TO QUALIFY FOR THIS ROLE YOU PROBABLY HAVE:

• At least a master’s degree
• A minimum three years of work experience with great results from one of the leading management consulting firms, investment banks, or private equity companies.
• Experience from managing complex strategic projects with multiple senior stakeholders, preferably in an international setting
• In-depth experience with powerpoint and excel
• English proficiency, both written and oral
• Experience from telecom is a benefit, but not a requirement.

• Sound judgement, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to dig sufficiently deep to understand the core of a problem
• Strong communication skills, both written and orally. We work with top management and need to be to-the-point and precise
• Experience from and strong ability to work with and influence top executives
• Very good collaboration skills, but also self-managed in driving progress
• Thrive in unpredictability – our industry is fast changing, so are our surroundings and also we. There will always be changes, and you will need to enjoy seeing opportunities in change
• A strong interest in further developing Telenor Group as one of the world’s leading mobile companies
