An exciting opportunity exists as part of our Water Storage Services team for a Senior Storage Officer located at iconic Lake Eildon. With the backdrop of Victoria’s High Country, this role provides the perfect opportunity to combine your love of outdoor pursuits, trade qualifications and project management skills in a fun and supportive team culture.
Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) is Australia’s largest rural water corporation responsible for storing, managing, and delivering water across most of northern Victoria. GMW provides more than 39,000 services to about 25,000 customers in its operating region.
The role involves working as part of a small team providing support to the ongoing operation and maintenance activities associated with the storage. You’ll play a key part in delivering storage operations, risk mitigation and catchment management.
Lake Eildon is one of Victoria’s most iconic locations. It is home to around 720 houseboats, four marinas and a mix of clubs and caravan parks.
This is a unique opportunity to carry out waterway management duties, undertake boating for marine and safety checks on Lake Eildon and engage with a range of stakeholders including recreational users, the general public, government agencies and the broader GMW business.
If you have a willingness to learn about water storage management requirements, have general knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, enjoy performing maintenance activities, be available to work on a standby roster one week in four, standby rates and overtime are paid above the base salary.
As this position has a requirement to live within one hour of the Eildon office and depot to cover standby rosters as required, the role offers the optional opportunity of subsidised rent, as per GMW Enterprise Agreement, of a GMW three bedroom house in the township of Eildon.
