We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Yard Supervisor to join a construction receiving/distribution warehouse in Broadmeadows. As a Yard Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and organization of our yard operations.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Efficiently manage yard staff to ensure smooth execution of daily tasks, including picking, loading, returns, service and maintenance, quality management, inspections, and stock counting.
  • Coordinate container shipments, and picking activities to meet delivery deadlines and maintain material selection accuracy.
  • Liaise with the Operations Manager and relevant departments regarding shortages and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping for stock levels, delivery notes and truck activity.
  • Oversee return handling processes and manage reconditioned stock repairs.
  • Supervise assembly and dismantling tasks as needed.
  • Support the Operations Manager in addressing weekly operational challenges.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a yard or logistics setting
  • A valid forklift license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Expertise in yard operations, including loading/unloading trucks, inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using computer software programs for inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to ensure compliance among team members.
