REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field required.
• At least 3 years of social service experience in juvenile delinquency intervention, social work, or case management is preferred.
• Bilingual abilities are also preferred.
• Ability to have a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends including assisting with the youth shelter shifts.
• Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work with individuals regardless of age, race, religion, sexual orientation, or marital status.

Salary: $40,000-$42,500 annually

The YMCA Youth Service Bureau is looking for a dedicated and reliable Youth Advocate. Under the guidance of the Executive Director, the Youth Advocate provides vulnerable youth with in-depth mentoring and character-building opportunities. Dedicated to supporting the entire student, Youth Advocates also assist with academics and career exploration to help youth reach their full potential.

• Support: Help youth and families find resources to support their established goals, ultimately working to empower youth and families to advocate for themselves effectively.
• Connect: Promote and incorporate the YMCA’s core values and mission into all aspects of the job and community.
• Motivate: Work to develop goals and plans for families and provide routine follow-up.
