Description:

The Prince George Native Friendship Centre (PGNFC) delivers programs and services through a lens of reconciliation, as we have been doing since the inception of the PGNFC for the past 50+ years. A key component of this journey is ensuring the voices of each person is heard and included in our trauma informed and culturally dynamic approach; this perspective is critical to reconciliation. We respect and honour people’s stories as they share their experiences, perspectives, and beliefs in the direction we are taking as an organization; we view this as a strengths-based process, where we build upon the multitude and diversity of existing strengths.

QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum of 2-years post-secondary education in a related field (Social Services, First Nations Studies, Criminology, Psychology etc.) and 1-2 years’ experience working with youth; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License with a willingness and ability to obtain unrestricted Class4 within 3 months of hire.
  • Certification: First Aid, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (NVCI, CPI) Suicide Intervention, and Food Safe; or the willingness toobtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to undergo a successful criminal record
  • Wages: $23.00/hr. - $28.05/hr. based on qualifications and experience (night shift premium).

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to write reports.
  • Provide conflict resolution support and crisis
  • Provide daily living skills support and advocate for clients.
  • Coordinate internal/external
