Project Officer, Infrastructure   Location: Parramatta Employment type: Temporary Full time up to 3 years Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8 ($113,574 - $125,720 pa), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading   Your role   The Project Officer plays a key role within the Major Projects team by supporting the planning and delivery of complex infrastructure and capital works projects across the Department. The position contributes to the successful delivery of priority capital investments for Youth Justice, Justice (Courts) and Intensive Therapeutic Care facilities. You will also support the development of project documentation and governance processes that enable the organisation to deliver safe, compliant and fit for purpose facilities aligned with strategic priorities and government objectives.   What you’ll do   As part of the Major Projects Delivery Team within Infrastructure and Assets, the Project Officer provides project management and coordination support across multiple projects at varying stages of delivery. This includes preparing briefs, reports and project plans, maintaining accurate documentation, tracking budgets and timelines, coordinating consultants and contractors, and supporting procurement and contract management processes. The role requires regular stakeholder engagement, monitoring risks and issues, escalating matters where required and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget and in accordance with agency frameworks and compliance requirements.   The Major Projects team operates in a fast paced and outcomes focused environment, delivering high value and high impact infrastructure projects across the state. The team works closely with operational divisions, external consultants and contractors, and central governance functions. The culture is collaborative, accountable and delivery driven, with a strong emphasis on clear communication, sound governance, problem solving and mutual support. Team members are encouraged to take ownership of their work while contributing to shared goals and maintaining high professional standards.     What we’re looking for   The ideal candidate will have experience supporting infrastructure, capital works or complex project environments, preferably within government or a regulated setting. A background in project management, construction, engineering, architecture, property, finance or a related discipline would be highly regarded. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong organisational skills, sound written and verbal communication, confidence in stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure. They will be detail oriented, commercially aware, comfortable interpreting technical information and capable of working autonomously while contributing effectively within a team environment. A practical understanding of governance, procurement and contract management processes will support success in this role.   Some regional travel is required. A valid NSW drivers licence is required.
