  Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a part time position working as an OTA/PTA on the acute care and rehabilitation floors and involves organizing and performing delegated patient care plans. This position also includes regular weekend coverage involving working throughout acute care as well as the rehabilitation floor where there would be OTA programs as well as PTA programs. The physical demands of the role may include but are not limited to prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling. This position contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successful completion of secondary school required
• Candidates must be dual-trained and a graduate from an Occupational Therapy Assistant/ Physiotherapy Assistant program.
• Previous experience in a Hospital setting is desirable.
• Keyboarding skills and familiarity with Meditech Modules a definite asset.
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) required.
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required
