Position Summary

The ICT Manager is responsible for leading the ICT Division of Unicom New Zealand Limited and ensuring the successful delivery of both internal ICT operations and external managed ICT services.

This role manages the ICT Helpdesk, ICT Technicians, Senior ICT Specialists and Project Engineers while driving technical excellence, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

The ICT Manager will lead the company’s ICT strategy, oversee enterprise infrastructure, Private Cloud, HCI platforms, Microsoft solutions and ICT outsourcing services, while driving AI adoption and digital transformation across the business. The role also provides senior technical leadership, supports business growth, and ensures the delivery of secure, reliable and scalable ICT solutions to enterprise customers throughout New Zealand and Australia.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & People Management

  Lead, mentor and develop the ICT team, establish KPIs, allocate resources, manage technical escalations and foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture.

2. ICT Operations & Service Delivery

  Manage ICT Helpdesk, managed services, infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, cyber security, backup and disaster recovery, ensuring all services meet agreed SLAs.

3. Internal Enterprise Infrastructure

  Design, implement and maintain the company’s enterprise ICT environment, including HCI, virtualisation, enterprise storage, Private Cloud, networking, identity management and business continuity.

4. AI Strategy & Digital Transformation

  Develop the company’s AI strategy, evaluate emerging AI technologies, identify automation opportunities, promote Microsoft Copilot and Azure AI adoption, establish AI governance, and lead digital transformation initiatives across the business.

5. Private Cloud & Managed Infrastructure

  Manage Private Cloud, IaaS, PaaS, virtual infrastructure, hybrid cloud, enterprise storage, cloud backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring secure and highly available services.

6. Microsoft Solutions & Modern Workplace

  Lead Microsoft 365, Azure, Teams, Intune, Entra ID and related services, supporting customer consulting, migrations, licensing, training and managed services.

7. ICT Outsourcing Services

  Oversee managed ICT services for enterprise customers across banking, aviation, healthcare, hospitality, government and commercial sectors, ensuring proactive support and high customer satisfaction.

8. Technical Leadership & Solution Architecture

  Provide senior technical leadership for enterprise infrastructure, cloud architecture, cyber security, virtualisation, networking, storage and major customer solutions.

9. ICT Strategy & Business Development

  Develop technology roadmaps, identify new service opportunities, support pre-sales activities, strengthen vendor partnerships and contribute to business growth.

10. Project Delivery & Governance

•   Lead ICT projects, manage vendors, ensure regulatory compliance, cyber security, business continuity and continuous improvement across the ICT Division.
