JOB SUMMARY:
CASES seeks a Bilingual Emotional Wellness Specialist who is committed to advancing our alternative-to-incarceration programming, ROAR (Reframing Opportunity, Alternatives and Resilience), for young people ages 16-27 in Harlem. The Bilingual Emotional Wellness Specialist has a key role developing and maintaining relationships with the ATI participants and community stakeholders providing mental health services. The therapist will join a multidisciplinary team and will provide comprehensive clinical and referral services to participants. All team members will work within our ATI model that helps young people who are at risk of incarceration build the capacity and courage to change their lives.
The ROAR program helps young people develop critical skills to reach education and employment milestones and transform their relationships and connections to community. The Bilingual Emotional Wellness Specialist will promote participant success and equity through culturally competent service delivery that meets the unique needs and experiences of young people involved in the criminal justice system. The Bilingual Emotional Wellness Specialist will have content expertise in youth development, trauma-informed care, gender-specific services, resiliency, and strengths-based dynamic assessment and service planning. Team members will support the fundamental beliefs that meaningful change is possible, participant voice is critical for effective services, and creating a safe space for young people promotes skill development. We believe that in-person operations are the best way to serve our clients, both directly and through essential operational support. This job requires work in our offices and/or the community.
