INTRODUCTION:
We are seeking a compassionate and committed Beyond the Gates Caseworker to join our team at St Paul’s Primary School, Rutherford, in a part-time capacity (22.5 hours per week). In this role, you’ll work closely with the school’s Wellbeing Team to support vulnerable students in staying connected with their education and community.
As part of a collaborative initiative between CatholicCare Social Services Hunter-Manning and the Catholic Schools Office, you’ll provide targeted outreach, case management, and home visit support to students and families, helping to strengthen their engagement with school and local services. This role extends the care and support of Catholic schools beyond the classroom, fostering positive relationships and outcomes for young people.
Some after-hours work and interagency collaboration will be required to ensure holistic and responsive support.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Catholic Schools Office and CatholicCare Social Services Hunter-Manning has formed a collaborative partnership to enhance the wellbeing of students and their families attending specific High Schools and feeder Primary Schools. The Beyond the Gates worker will be an employee of CatholicCare Social Services Hunter Manning (Clinical Services Team) but will be based at the nominated School in the Wellbeing Teams. The purpose of this position is to support and encourage vulnerable students to remain linked up with the schools and the wider communities. The role will involve community outreach and home visiting while working alongside families to enhance their engagement in services. The role will enhance the link between the schools and students. Catholic Schools are recognised as safe, disciplined, welcoming and caring communities, where paramount importance is given to building and nurturing quality relationships. Beyond the Gates extends this support and care into communities. The role will require some out of business hours work to create the best opportunities for engagement. It will also require networking activities with a range of other services across surrounding communities.
