Position Summary: Reporting to the Director, Accounting, the Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in managing financial aspects of our Research and Development (“R&D”) activities as well as Selling, General, and Administrative (“SG&A”) accounting responsibilities. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong financial acumen, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the biotech industry. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and also work with CRO & CDMO vendors to support various finance and accounting activities related to our R&D activities. Key Responsibilities: Business partner to various organizations within R&D Manage aspects of the monthly accounting close, to ensure accurate and timely completion of close activities with a focus on R&D-related accounting areas including expenses, prepayments and deposits, and accruals Prepare journal entries and reconciliations with related supporting workpapers for assigned areas Ensure the quality of work product is compliant with SOX requirements Review and analyze invoices, read contracts, and compare and reconcile data to POs, budgets and/or work orders to determine the appropriate accounting treatments Review CRO & CDMO budget trackers and ensure appropriate accounting estimates in the expense trackers Prepare fluctuation analysis by segments (e.g., subsidiaries, programs, phases, etc.) as well as R&D-related general ledger account fluctuation analysis Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and other R&D analyses requested by management Coordinate with finance & accounting team members in identifying, researching, and documenting significant accounting matters and disclosure items Assist with the quarterly reviews, interim and year-end audit, as well as tax requirements as it relates to associated activities.
