Description THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION. EARLY CAREER POSITION JOB SUMMARY: The Business Development Representative (BDR) is an early career position that supports the Client Services (CS) department by generating sales demand through inbound and outbound lead development in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry. The BDR will actively discover, research, contact, and qualify new leads. The BDR will be responsible for representing MMI in oral and written communications and keeping MMI’s pipeline updated with sales qualified leads. Documentation, book-keeping and maintenance of MMI’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) portal will constitute ancillary job-functions. In this role, the BDR will build foundational business development skills and collaborate closely with other members of the sales team in growing MMI’s business. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Proactively seek new business opportunities in the target markets Manage the business development (BD) and sales pipeline and follow-up on new business leads Conduct research that leads to key connections and requests for information/proposals (RFI/Ps) Administer and manage BD surveys Monitor and utilize website and social media analytics to fine tune MMI’s BD pursuits Create highly personalized emails, calls, and social media outreach to make meaningful connections with prospects Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activities to craft compelling messaging Qualify inbound and outbound leads by present the company to potential prospects, identifying the prospects’ requirements, and determining whether MMI’s services address those requirements Nurture and build trust and credibility with prospects, which lead to relationships between MMI and its future clients Set up meetings between prospects and Client Services Managers Collaborate with other members of the CS department to develop targeted lists, call strategies, and messaging tactics Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files in MMI’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform as it pertains to the sales development cycle; stay current on CRM updates Develop a high-level understanding of the imaging core lab industry and best practices Support the CS team in business development, marketing, and sales activities Support internal initiatives aimed at quality improvement, and suggest and implement process improvements Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BA or BS from an accredited 4-year college or university in the areas of business, marketing, engineering, or sciences 0-2 years of experience in sales, marketing, or a related field (B2B tech experience a plus) Preferred: Hands-on experience with sales prospecting techniques like cold calling, cold emailing, and social outreach SKILLS REQUIRED: Exceptional written and oral communication skills Excellent listening and negotiation skills Strong interpersonal skills Ability to deliver engaging presentations Impeccable work ethic and attention to detail Solid analytic, problem-solving, and computer skills Self-starter that is comfortable and confident taking initiative Effective time management and organizational skills Highly motivated and persistent Openness to coaching and learning Persistence, patience and professionalism in pursuing leads PLUSES: Experience or demonstrated interest in medical devices or biopharmaceuticals Understanding of clinical trials, including US-FDA 510(k) / PMA / IND regulatory pathways Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., SalesForce, NetSuite, HubSpot, PipeDrive, Zoho, etc.) Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret pipeline data and generate analytics
