The purpose of our Risk Management Group is clear - creating a better future by managing the risks of today and anticipating the risks of tomorrow. As an intern, you’ll join an independent central function responsible for objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks.
At Macquarie, we are working to create lasting value for our communities, our clients and our people. We are a global financial services group operating in 31 markets and with 56 years of unbroken profitability. You’ll be part of a supportive team where everyone - no matter what role - contributes ideas and drive outcomes.
As an intern in the Risk Management Group, you’ll discover how a sound risk culture has been integral to Macquarie’s risk management framework since inception. This is a direct placement opportunity with our Credit team.
The Credit team manages and oversees the counterparty credit, equity, and asset risks taken by Macquarie. This is delivered through the credit risk management framework that articulates the approach to assessment, approval, monitoring and reporting of these risks.
As an intern with the Credit team in New York, you will gain exposure to several asset classes including leveraged loans, high yield bonds, mezzanine debt, leases and equity investments across a number of industries. You will work on transactions primarily related to debt capital markets, principal finance, and fixed income, currency and commodities businesses.
As an intern with the Credit team in Houston, you will cover a portfolio of North American trading counterparties and actively communicate with the various trading desks to fully understand the risk nature of the transactions requiring analysis and approval. You will research, gather information and prepare credit review memos that are commensurate to the potential trade exposure and the credit quality of Macquarie’s counterparties.
Estimated salary amount is the equivalent of $70,000 - $110,000 annually, prorated for the length of time of the internship. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
