ABOUT US
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is the department dedicated to growing primary industries and supporting regional economic development to deliver long term benefits to the state. Our focus is to protect, support and develop our primary industries, mining sector, and regions.
The department brings together Agriculture & Biosecurity; Forestry & Fishing; Local Land Services; NSW Resources; Regional Development & Delivery; the Regional Growth NSW Development Corporation; NSW Public Works and Soil Conservation Service.
We have nearly 5,000 employees, with almost 80 per cent of us living and working in regional NSW.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be expected to develop and deliver river, estuary, and/or catchment management projects, provide advice to landholders and deliver services that have positive environmental outcomes on-ground.
This role delivers front line services to farmers and the community within Hunter LLS. We aim to help landholders manage our landscapes to be healthy and productive, including through provision of natural resource management information, advice and extension services.
To be successful in this role you will have a genuine interest in riparian and/or estuary rehabilitation and the capability to deliver extension services that engage rural landholders and industries in riparian practice change.
An understanding of the principles and practices of natural resource management associated with riverine and/or estuarine environments is highly desirable.
