Overview
Independent Mechanical Supply (IMS) is a leading distributor of plumbing and heating products. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Counter Sales Representative. This role requires the flexibility to serve our diverse customer base across all product lines but a background in HVAC products is an asset. As part of our team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional service, fostering customer relationships, and driving sales at the counter.
Key Responsibilities:Customer Service & Order Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all in-person customers, providing expert advice on products and addressing inquiries.
Accurately enter customer orders into the system, ensuring timely fulfillment and delivery.
Handle inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, offering prompt, knowledgeable responses.
PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE & TRAINING:
Stay current with industry trends and product knowledge to provide the best recommendations and solutions to customers.
Assist in training new employees, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Industry Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience with plumbing and heating products,
HVAC Experience: Strong understanding of HVAC products is an asset.
Education: High school diploma (or equivalent).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer systems and order entry (experience with AS400 is a plus).
Customer Service Experience: Proven track record in a sales or customer service role, preferably in a counter sales environment.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, with strong attention to detail.
Availability: Willingness to work one Saturday per month.
Maintain an attractive and organized sales counter, ensuring that product displays are visually appealing and properly stocked.
Support cross-departmental collaboration with Purchasing, Admin, and Sales Admin teams to streamline operations.
