Faculty positions are predicated on three contributing areas: Academic instructor leadership, administrative duties & community engagement; teaching & curriculum and professional development.
1. ACADEMIC INSTRUCTOR LEADERSHIP, ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Academic Instructor Leadership, administrative duties
Students
1. Demonstrates a sensitivity and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, cultural, and religious background of students.
2. Enhance the student learning experience and provides students with mentorship
3. Advise and support students to achieve their educational goals
4. Efficiently completing college administrative tasks (e.g. Attendance, submitting grades and administrative forms: Academic integrity, Grade change, Field trip forms etc.)
5. Facilitate approved academic accommodations by working with Academic Advisors in Student Services to accommodate students with special needs. (e.g. alternative assessment options, increased assignment timelines, accessible course content, or level and nature of classroom participation)
Community Engagement
1. Display collegiality and engage with the greater community.
2. Serve on various committees (e.g. 1-2 standing, ad hoc committees & hiring committee), advisory boards, working groups, Educational Council as assigned by the program director and/or required
3. Engage in classroom-observation activities (as part of the LCV Faculty Development Review) and implement feedback received.
4. Display a commitment to participate in faculty meetings, forums and program level reviews
5. Display a commitment to engaging with the college, faculty and students.
