Description

ABOUT US

The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia’s largest and most-loved charities. We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better. It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.
We’re Hiring: Administrative Support Officer (Full-Time)
Be part of building stronger, healthier communities in South Australia.
At The Salvation Army SA/NT Division, we’re more than just a church — we’re a movement of people passionate about making a difference. From our base in Adelaide, we work to care for people, create spaces for faith, strengthen communities, and advocate for justice.
We believe everyone deserves connection, support, and a place to belong — and this role helps make that happen behind the scenes.
Why this role matters
As an Administrative Support Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting our local Corps (churches and community hubs) across South Australia. This role helps ensure our services and community efforts run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with policies and procedures — allowing frontline teams to do what they do best: support people.
You’ll be the quiet force behind impactful community work — making sure the right systems are in place, volunteers are resourced, and administration is handled with care and excellence.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting our Corps Officers with admin tasks during staff and volunteer onboarding
  • Helping coordinate volunteer training to meet mandatory safety and compliance standards
  • Keeping volunteer records up to date and ensuring compliance requirements are met
  • Processing invoices, reimbursements, and managing asset registers
  • Liaising with IT, Payroll, and Finance teams to help resolve local admin needs
  • Supporting our teams remotely and occasionally travelling across the state as needed

What you’ll bring

  • A heart for community and a friendly, professional approach to working with people
  • Experience in general admin, customer service, and strong computer literacy
  • Good attention to detail and experience with systems like Workday (ideal, but not essential)
  • Confidence working independently, especially across multiple sites or remote locations
  • An understanding of compliance in the not-for-profit or volunteer sector
  • Current driver’s licence and ability to travel state-wide
  • Required background checks (Police, Working with Children/Vulnerable People)

What we offer

The Salvos offer eligible employee’s a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including:

  • Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
  • Generous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks) & secondary carers, Purchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks) and 5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Access to EAP and health & wellness initiatives incl Fitness Passport
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities that enhance on the job skills and proficiency.
  • Rewarding and fulfilling purpose driven careers that have positive and sustainable / social impacts.

Why join us?
This is more than just an admin job. It’s a chance to contribute to a mission that transforms lives. You’ll be part of a supportive, values-driven team working together to strengthen communities, support volunteers, and build spaces of belonging across South Australia.
Join us, and help create impact that reaches far beyond the desk
