We have a highly engaged, diverse and collaborative workforce that is unified by our goal to help people live healthy and fulfilled lives.    About the Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics Department The Department of Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics provides clinical care to inpatients at Austin Health in the Blood Pressure Clinic where it also performs research into a variety of medical conditions including hypertension, cardiac failure, insulin resistance/diabetes, obesity, hypercholesterolemia and dementia. Amongst other services that the department provides is 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.  The Department also provides an outpatient service for patients with hypotension, hypertension or other cardiovascular risk factors.  The Department performs clinical and physiological research on patients and normal volunteers and also studies the behaviour of drugs including new drugs.   Consultants are expected to provide high level services within their approved scope of clinical practice as part of the Clinical Pharmacology team at Austin Health.  A minimum level of expertise and set of skills is necessary.   About the role  This consultant will work with the other members of the department and requires the professional responsibilities of clinical leadership, teaching and training as well as some administrative requirements. The position reports to the Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics Head of Unit.   As the Hypertension Clinic Consultant Physician you will possess excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.
