DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER – TOOWOOMBA REGION
Abundance Care & Support | Casual Position | Immediate Start Available
Abundance Care & Support is a growing NDIS provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support to people living with disability.
We are currently looking for an exceptional Disability Support Worker to join our growing team in the Toowoomba region.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, professional, compassionate and genuinely committed to doing their job properly.
This is an opportunity for the right person to join a growing organisation, build a meaningful relationship with a participant and become part of a team that values quality, respect and person-centred support.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful applicant will provide quality disability support in accordance with the participant's individual needs, preferences, goals and support requirements.
We are looking for someone who understands that being a Disability Support Worker is more than simply turning up for a shift.
We expect our workers to:
- Be reliable and punctual
- Conduct themselves professionally at all times
- Treat participants with dignity, respect and kindness
- Follow participant support plans and organisational procedures
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries
- Respect participant choice and control
- Support independence rather than creating unnecessary dependence
- Communicate appropriately with participants, families and the Abundance Care & Support team
- Complete required documentation accurately and professionally
- Maintain participant confidentiality and privacy
- Identify and report incidents, risks and concerns appropriately
- Work safely and within their scope of training and competence
- Be willing to learn and participate in ongoing training
- Work collaboratively with the broader support team
- Take pride in providing high-quality support — not simply completing a shift
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has a genuine passion for disability support
- Is dependable and takes their commitments seriously
- Has a positive and engaging personality
- Is patient, respectful and compassionate
- Has excellent communication skills
- Can work independently
- Is also comfortable being part of a small, growing team
- Understands person-centred practice
- Is willing to follow policies, procedures and participant-specific instructions
- Can demonstrate sound judgement and professional boundaries
- Is willing to receive feedback and continue developing their skills
- Wants to build a longer-term relationship with a growing provider
We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about the quality of the support they provide.
THE RIGHT PARTICIPANT MATCH IS IMPORTANT
At Abundance Care & Support, we understand that a successful support relationship depends on finding the right fit between the participant and their support worker.
For this reason, successful employment will depend on the applicant being considered a suitable match for the participant, in addition to meeting the skills, experience, screening and other requirements of the position.
We will consider factors such as:
- Communication style
- Personality and interpersonal skills
- Relevant experience
- Availability
- Professional approach
