Explore new taste traditions with the passionate team at PriceSmart Foods, a division of Pattison Food Group Ltd. and certified a Great Place to Work®.We are hiring a Cook at our Station Square PriceSmart Foods location in Burnaby, BC.The successful candidate must have open availability and be available for 40 hours per week.You will be responsible for:Going the Extra Mile for our customers and fellow team members.
  • Assisting the Head Chef with quality control, scheduling and shrink control.
  • Supporting the restaurant department with inventory management, day-to-day ordering and period-end counts.
  • Supporting with the implementation and execution new and seasonal menus based on recipes and restaurant programs.
  • Supporting the Head Chef train and coach the restaurant team according to established standard procedures.
  • Handling customer service inquiries and providing a positive customer experience that is focused on Always Customer First service.
  • Preparing and cooking food on a regular basis, including for special guests or functions.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
  • Cleaning equipment and work area to ensure a safe, and sanitary work environment.
  • Using a variety of equipment, including knives.
  • Other duties as required.
  • You Have:Minimum of 1 year of previous restaurant experience.
  • Experience making a variety of Asian hot foods and cold foods such as sushi, dim sum, stir fry and BBQ.
  • A passion for great food and outstanding service.
  • Food Safe Certification and good working knowledge of W.H.M.I.S. (considered an asset)
  • Retail, customer service experience (considered an asset).
  • Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese (considered an asset).
