Description
Company Description Te Tākinatanga - Our Story At Contact, we believe home is the most important place in the world. That belief shapes everything we do, from leading the energy transition to how we power Aotearoa and care for our people and communities. We’re a power, broadband, and mobile company, but we’re also investing boldly in renewable energy and smarter, more connected ways of working (mahi). Our ambition is simple: to leave Aotearoa better than we found it. Guided by our tikanga, we’re a team who care deeply about the work we do, how we support one another, and the impact we have. Simply put, we touch lives to make life better. Behind that is our focus on people, and empowering our leaders and teams to build the skills they need for today and what’s coming next. The Learning & Organisational Development Manager role sits at the centre of that mahi, keeping things moving day-to-day while also supporting some of our most important programmes. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term opportunity to step into a leadership role that’s already in motion. You’ll help keep momentum across the team, support leaders across the business, and make sure our learning and development work continues to land well, while leading the rollout of key programmes and initiatives already underway. It’s a role that blends people leadership, project management, and programme delivery for leaders across the business. Job Description Te Whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll guide the team through a range of Learning & OD mahi, helping prioritise what matters most while keeping delivery moving. Execution across learning and organisational development, ensuring key programmes, engagement cycles and initiatives continue to run smoothly. Lead, support and coach a team of specialists, providing clarity, prioritisation, and the right level of guidance to help them succeed. Partner with leaders across the business to understand capability needs and deliver practical, fit‑for‑purpose learning solutions. Oversee the rollout of important programmes, including leadership development and operational initiatives, ensuring they are delivered effectively. Work across multiple stakeholders and priorities, helping the business navigate change while maintaining strong business‑as‑usual delivery. You’ll be working in an environment where, as our rōpū (organisation) evolves, priorities can shift so you’re someone who can bring structure, momentum, and calm to complexity. Qualifications Ko wai koe | About You You’re someone who is comfortable leading through change and enjoys bringing clarity where things aren’t fully defined yet. You’ll thrive in this fixed-term opportunity if you bring: Capability in leading programmes or initiatives in learning, organisational development, change, or related environments where you’ve had senior responsibilities. A solid understanding of learning, leadership development, or organisational development practices built through previous mahi. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively across a wide range of people and teams. Confidence working in ambiguity, balancing competing priorities while keeping delivery on track. Leadership experience, and strength in adapting your style to meet different needs and levels of experience. A pragmatic, delivery‑focused approach (you’re happy to step into the detail when needed to keep things moving!) You don’t need to bring experience with every system or tool. What matters most is your ability to lead and execute on delivery, build strong working relationships and drive meaningful progress. Additional Information Additional Information If this sounds like you, and you’re keen to step into a role where you can lead, bring kaimahi (employees) on a journey and make an impact in a short space of time, we’d love to hear your story.
