JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

As a Patient Care Technician you will be a crucial member of our collaborative nursing care team, delivering hands-on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients. Your support brings comfort, dignity, and connection to those who need it most – and helps make our mission to improve lives a reality for patients every day.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED:

• A minimum of a High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in an acute care setting, Preferred.
• Kansas Certified Nursing Assistant License required or completion of the HCA Patient Care Tech Essentials training.
• BCLS certification required upon hire.
• With no hospital-based experience, must be able to attend the PCT Essentials training (M-F 8a – 5pm first 2 weeks of employment).

We have an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center. Our hospital is a premier area destination for Women’s & Children’s healthcare services. We offer the region’s only Maternal Fetal Health Center to care for critically ill mothers and their babies. Our hospital has an antepartum unit, a labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU. We have four emergency rooms, including a dedicated Pediatric emergency room and two freestanding ERs located in Olathe and Shawnee. Each year our colleagues treat over 45,000 patients. • Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth procedures and recovery
• Providing non-medicated care like dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas, operating rooms, and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and environmental logs to keep the team ready and protect patients through infection control
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team while promoting safety and quality efforts
