The Opportunity Moonee Valley City Council is seeking an Investment and Planning Officer to support the establishment of clear, practical foundations for future investment prioritisation. With a formal prioritisation process yet to be developed, this role plays a critical support function helping senior staff organise information, understand existing research, and develop simple structures and templates to enable informed decision-making. This is not a decision-making role. Instead, it focuses on coordination, documentation and preparation, ensuring Council is well positioned to undertake future investment prioritisation work. Key Responsibilities Building investment foundations • Develop simple templates to capture investment information • Define clear and consistent ways to record investment purpose, links to strategy or research, and expected outcomes or benefits • Assist with and appropriately refer enquiries, ensuring timely and accurate advice Supporting early prioritisation thinking • Document potential prioritisation factors such as risk, compliance and service impact • Assist senior staff with draft comparison tables and summary material for discussion • Record feedback and decisions made by others Coordination and support • Maintain organised documents, registers and folders • Track actions and next steps • Prepare short summaries and briefing notes • Support meetings and workshops as required About You You are highly organised, analytical and comfortable working with information at an early, exploratory stage.
