About This Opportunity As Manager, Work Integrated Learning (WIL), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future employability of students within the BEL Faculty. You will inform and support the implementation of the Faculty’s WIL strategy and priorities, providing expert advice and resources to embed employability and WIL across BEL programs and within courses. In this position, you will lead and develop a highly effective team of Employability and WIL Advisors to deliver exceptional outcomes for students and industry partners. Key responsibilities will include: Lead and manage a high performing team, setting goals, key performance indicators, and supporting individual growth and development to ensure a highly productive and successful service that is aligned with UQ and BEL Education priorities. Provide expert, multi-disciplinary advice on the development and delivery of WIL to senior stakeholders within the Faculty. Partner with senior stakeholders within the faculty to provide advice, strategies, and guidance to support the embedding of employability in the curriculum, and raising awareness of the range of WIL delivery options. Lead the design and coordination of learning opportunities including workshops for academic and professional staff involved in the design and implementation of WIL experiences. Identify, develop and maintain strategic partnerships with industry, including national, international, rural and regional organisations to co-design and deliver initiatives that bridge the gap between theory and practice. This is a Full-time (100%), continuing position at HEW Level 8, working with a high-performing, collaborative team. About You Qualifications and training equivalent to an undergraduate degree in business administration, economics, law, human resources, education, or another relevant field, and at least four years in WIL with extensive experience and/or management expertise in employability; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and expertise in working at a senior level in WIL and employability within higher education. High level experience developing and delivering educational resources to support WIL in higher education, meeting a range of discipline-specific needs and expectations. Sound knowledge of Australian higher education sector, university degree structures, and employability issues face by students and graduates in domestic and international labour markets. A professional and enthusiastic approach to develop clear project plans and timelines, regularly communicate with stakeholders, and monitor project progress to deliver high quality, innovative and scalable WIL programs. High level of interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to manage relationships with senior academic and professional staff, and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to lead a high performing team of professionals, including supervision, development, and managing a team culture to support the strategic needs of the unit. Experience in applying a programmatic lens to scaffold and embed student employability within and across diverse programs in a higher education environment or Faculty.
