As a member of a multidisciplinary primary health care team, the incumbent is primarily responsible for behavioral health supports for a number of conditions under the care of the Primary Health Care Provider. The services to be delivered through this position include screening functional assessment and develops behavioral change plans in conjunction with the Primary Health Care Provider. The Mental Health Therapist - Staff develops and implements a behavioral healthcare plan and makes referrals as required. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Familiar with community resources and services Experience w/ clinical interventions in Integrated Care or Community Health Care Experience in brief treatment modalities in PHC setting is an asset Experience with clinical interventions related to Primary Health Care Education Bachelor of Science in Human Services (BSHS) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Competencies Advanced - Communication skills Excellent documentation skills Advanced - Organizational skills Advanced - Critical thinking skills Knowledge and Abilities Ability to follow structure and maintain routine Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change. Ability to work under stress Ability to treat patients with compassion and empathy Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act and Family Services Act Knowledge of Health Information Protection Act and other legislation.
