Description The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing day-to-day human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and HR policy implementation. This role acts as a key point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring a positive work environment and alignment with company goals and HR best practices. Requirements Responsibilities: Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Prepares new-employee electronic files as needed. Maintains electronic record keeping of all employees. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Conducts or acquires background checks, motor vehicle and employee eligibility verifications. Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development. Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and other celebrations. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Performs other duties as assigned. Travels to other work locations as assigned. Required Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficiency with the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered. At least 2-5 years of prior generalist or human resource management experience required. SHRM-CP preferred. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish strongly preferred Prior experience with Paylocity and Deltek a plus Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Travel as needed to facilities - must have valid license and transportation Must be able to regularly talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate standard office equipment (computer, keyboard, phone, copier, scanner). Must be able to visually review documents and data on paper and electronic screens. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times (e.g., office supplies, files, or event materials). Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching as needed to retrieve files, set up meetings, or support events. Ability to maintain focus in an open or shared office environment with regular interruptions.
